Standard PVC strips are rated for -10°C to +60°C. Our Polar Grade strips use special plasticisers to remain fully flexible at -60°C — these are the correct choice for deep-freeze cold stores and blast-freezer entries. Welding-grade strips handle up to +80°C and filter UV radiation. Always match the strip type to your operating temperature.

In normal industrial conditions, Mitzvah PVC strip curtains last 5–7 years for standard grade and 3–5 years for polar and welding grades. Lifespan depends on UV exposure, chemical contact, traffic frequency, and cleaning. UV-stabilised PVC prevents yellowing and brittleness. Individual strips can be replaced without replacing the entire curtain set.

Yes, though they are not a dedicated acoustic barrier. The mass of overlapping PVC strips does absorb and attenuate sound — typically 8–12 dB in industrial environments. For applications where noise control is a primary requirement, we recommend combining strip curtains with acoustic panels for maximum effect.

A fixed system has stationary mounting brackets — strips hang in place and flex open on contact. This is the most common and cost-effective installation. A sliding system allows the entire curtain panel to slide sideways along a top-mounted track, fully clearing the opening — ideal for wide openings like loading bays or where occasional full-access is needed without removing strips.

No electricity is required — they operate purely passively. Unlike air curtains or automatic doors, there are no motors, sensors, or controls to service.
